I grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Colby College, Maine with a BA in English Literature. I taught High School English and operated my own antique business until I earned my M.Ed. and Ed.D. in Clinical Counseling and supervision from the University of Maine at Orono, ME.
I taught Counseling and Women's Studies at the University of Southern Maine and provided psychotherapy in my private practice as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor for other two decades before I retired. Many of my books have been inspired by the life stories I was honored to witness while in private practice.
Before I started writing novels, I kept busy writing research articles, newspaper columns, song lyrics, poetry, short stories, essays and numerous other non-fiction writings. Gradually, the short pieces began to form into longer writings and my first thriller,Twisted Truth, was born and I was hooked. In the following three years four more novels followed. I am working on six and seven now, the third book in each series.
I continue to spend my summer months in the north, between Maine and New Hampshire, my roots still clamoring for what they know best. But in the winter, I head for North Carolina where the climate is more conducive for enjoying the outdoors and southern hospitality without freezing temperatures. Mysteries abide wherever I go and I continue to capture them in words whether I am north or south.
My life is enriched by my two children, my grandson, my four siblings, wonderful friends and challenging and supportive authors and friends in my writer's roundtable.
